We Love Oakville, sent out the following newsletter on 19 April:
ACT NOW TO SAVE GLEN ABBEY!!
The proposed development would be like dropping a small town into the heart of Oakville without any official planning. It represents 22% more growth than Oakville plans for the next 25 years.
We Love Oakville has thrown its support behind the Save Glen Abbey movement. Send a letter to Queen’s Park!
Save Glen Abbey seeks to save the green space and historic site from development. Glen Abbey’s owner (ClubLink) is proposing to replace it with a whole new urban district, with over 3,000 residential units and accompanying commerce, roads, services and parks. The proposal ignores both the Regional and Town Official Plans. It dismisses Glen Abbey’s designation as a heritage landscape, and its iconic fame as both the home of the Canadian Open and the first golf course designed entirely by the celebrated Jack Nicklaus.
If you care about orderly growth and protecting our heritage, add your voice to the calls to protect Glen Abbey.
