Jayne was born in Toronto, raised in Mississauga, and chose Oakville as her home over 40 years ago. She is retired from a career in journalism, having worked as a photojournalist in specialty magazines, and as a producer, researcher, statistician, and writer with CBC television. Although her journalism career was primarily covering sports, she also produced documentaries and news, as well as writing about personal investing and real estate. Early in her career she travelled extensively as a publicist, photographer, and statistician with the Canadian Equestrian Team. It was her involvement in equestrian sport that brought her to Oakville as a teenager, when the farms of north Oakville were the training ground for members of Canada's international team. In retirement she still enjoys many of her career activities, now as hobbies, such as photography, travelling, and investing, and staying on top of news and current affairs. jayne@tcra.ca

Doug has lived in Oakville since 1969, with a brief three-year absence during the eighties. Originally trained as a mining engineer, he spent most of his career as an information technologist, working for Inco Ltd. Now retired, Doug lives on Trafalgar Road, overlooking the 16 Mile Creek. An immigrant from England, he feels truly blessed to live in Canada and in this lovely town.
Hugh and his wife Linda came to Toronto from Scotland in 1974 fully intending to stay for at most two years. After seeing as much of North America as we could manage the plan was to return to Scotland to do the settling down thing there. But after almost fifty years we are still here and settled with three children and five grandchildren. We have lived in the Trafalgar/Chartwell area since 2002.
Hugh has a degree in Physics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and landed a position as a member of the research staff at the newly opened Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) within a few weeks of arriving in Canada (a very lucky break). He worked there until 1989 when he was offered a position at the IMAX Corp Technology Centre in Sheridan Park, a few hundred yards from the XRCC building (another lucky break). Hugh was transferred after five years to the Film Production group where he remained until retiring in 2015 as a Senior VP for Film Production
Hugh and Linda love Oakville and intend it to be their forever home. Serving as a Director of TCRA is Hugh’s way of repaying in some very small way for the privilege of enjoying this unique town.
Doug has lived in east/old Oakville for over 20 years. Retired from the steel industry, he has an Engineering degree from Queen’s and an MBA from McMaster.
Doug enjoys many sports, and the outdoors, in all seasons. Indoor interests include reading, history, and doing research, learning new things. Doug enjoys contributing, in some small way, to improving the world around us.
