Amazon Distribution Centre

Today, Amazon officials reached out to Town Council via Ward 3 Town Councillor Janet Haslett-Theall to inform her that Amazon earlier this year had decided not to lease 2175 Cornwall and to build on Avonhead Road in Mississauga instead.

 The planned Amazon Distribution Centre at the north-west corner of Ford Drive and Cornwall, using an existing warehouse, is going ahead, notwithstanding opposition from residents and the Town. The issue for us in our neighbourhood is increased traffic on Cornwall; for the people in the immediate neighbourhood of the warehouse it is concentrated coming and going of trucks and vans. Unfortunately, the outcome has been a foregone conclusion because the Town had no way of stopping the project. All it could do was to influence the details of the Centre’s operations.
